ATSNJ Secures Legislative Victory as Practice Act Update Advances in Senate

On Monday, March 24th, ATSNJ celebrated a legislative win as the updated practice act passed the State Senate Commerce Committee unanimously. At the hearing, ATSNJ Current President Steven Barandica, Immediate Past President Ken Cieslak and Past President and Governmental Affairs Committee Co-Chair Jess Springstead all testified on behalf of the Bill, emphasizing its importance for the profession and public safety.

"This is an important day for athletic trainers, and the communities they serve, throughout the state," said Barandica. "We are grateful to the committee members for their unanimous support." ATSNJ extends its appreciation to the senators, legislative counsel Eric Orlando, and the many members of our community who reached out to committee members, urging their support.

With the bill now out of committee, next steps will be determined by Senate leadership, and ATSNJ will provide updates as soon as more information becomes available.
