ATSNJ Athletic Environmental Health and Safety Award
Criteria and Submission Procedure
The Athletic Trainers’ Society of New Jersey (ATSNJ) Athletic Environmental Health and Safety (AEHS) Award recognizes an ATSNJ student member enrolled in a New Jersey accredited athletic training program who’s submitted project has the potential to have a positive impact on environmental health and safety in athletics. The award recipient will receive one (1) complimentary registration for the upcoming ATSNJ Annual Conference.
Criteria
• Eligible students must be an ATSNJ member and currently enrolled in a New Jersey CAATE program.
• The submission must contain a minimum of 3-5 pieces of documented evidence-based research.
• Clarity of submission. The submission must be easily understood.
• Overall appearance. The submission must be aesthetically appealing.
• The submission projects the potential to have a positive impact on environmental health and safety in athletics.
Submission Procedures
• This year’s theme is Lightning Safety in Athletics and the required method of delivery shall be an infographic.
If multiple students are submitting the infographic, a Lead Student must be established. Should the infographic win, only the Lead Student is eligible for the complimentary registration.
• Project submissions should creatively and effectively accomplish the criteria for the given theme.
• One (1) Letter of Advocacy from the student’s Program Director, Athletic Training Supervisor, School Professor or Preceptor must accompany the submission.
• The Application, Infographic, and Letter of Advocacy must be submitted for consideration to the AEHS Committee Chair at njatc5@gmail.com no later than January 15.
• The AEHS Committee shall review all submissions and select a winner.
• The AEHS Committee shall notify the winner and award that person with one (1) complementary registration to the upcoming Annual ATSNJ Conference. The complimentary registration cannot be carried over to the following years and it is non-transferable.
• The winner must plan to present their submission at the ATSNJ Student Session during the upcoming Annual ATSNJ Conference.
