President-Elect
(Candidate: Katelyn Zimmerman - Ocean View Township HS)
Candidate Statement
As I finish my term as ATSNJ Treasurer, I am excited to be running for the position of President-Elect. My experience as treasurer, central representative, and member of many committees has given me a unique perspective on our operations and the importance of sustainable growth in our organization. I am committed to fostering an inclusive and engaging environment for our volunteers and stakeholders.
One of my primary goals as President-Elect is to enhance our onboarding process for volunteer leadership. By providing and implementing a comprehensive training and support program, we can empower new leaders to thrive and make meaningful contributions from day one. This initiative will help ensure continuity and a strong pipeline of engaged volunteers passionate about our mission.
Additionally, I plan to prioritize the re-engagement of our committees. Revitalizing these essential groups can harness our members' diverse skills and perspectives. I believe that with clear goals and regular communication, we can maximize our impact and foster a sense of community among our volunteers.
Finally, I will continue to support and advance our legislative efforts. Advocacy for our profession is a critical component of our work, and I am dedicated to ensuring that we remain a strong voice for our constituents and the needs of our profession in the state. By collaborating with our committees and building strategic partnerships, we can amplify our message and drive meaningful change.
Together, we can strengthen our organization and create a lasting impact. I would be honored to have your support as I work towards these goals. Thank you for considering my candidacy as President-Elect.

Treasurer
(Candidate: Anais Mixon - Marlboro High School)
Candidate Statement
Hello! My name is Anais Mixson.
I am proud and honored to stand for the nomination of Treasurer of the Athletic Training Society of New Jersey. During my 16 years as a member, I have had the privilege of volunteering alongside our highly motivated members to improve the Society.
Professionally, I have worked in the secondary school, clinic outreach, and college settings. I currently work at Marlboro High School and graduated from West Chester University in 2008. Through the ATSNJ, I have volunteered my time with a variety of committees including currently holding seats as Co-Chair of Technology and Conference Committees and a member of the Public Relations Committee.
Here are three ways that I plan to review our finances:
- Carefully understand our financial decisions in the past, including the financial risk/benefit. Review the good and the bad to create a full picture of where we are headed.
- Review and understand our investments. Ensure we are making sound financial decisions and are not relying heavily on stock returns for budgeting purposes.
- Seek additional non-dues revenues. The services we provide and our work to advance through legislation are vital. Increasing membership and developing new non-dues revenue will go a long way to improving our profession.
I am interested in utilizing the lessons I have learned in my professional and personal life to aid in the advancement of the Society. As Treasurer, I plan on being an active voice for the Executive Council and be an outlet for athletic trainers, inside the state, who want to express their opinions. I am a dedicated and passionate individual and will work hard to promote our profession in a positive way. I hope that you will strongly consider me as a candidate for Treasurer of the ATSNJ.
