Hall of Fame - Mark Cherwony, ATC

Mark Cherwony earned his Bachelor of Science in Physical Education with a specialization in Athletic Training from Temple University. During his junior year, Mark was a volunteer with the Philadelphia – Baltimore Stars of the USFL. Upon graduating in December 1985, Mark accepted the position of Athletic Trainer at Marple Newton Senior High School, in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania. This would fill the six month void prior to heading south to Virginia, where Mark would earn a Master of Science, specializing in Athletic Training while serving the student-athletes of Old Dominion University as a graduate assistant athletic trainer.

Mark is currently the athletic trainer/ assistant athletic director at Cinnaminson High School. He has held the athletic trainer position since 1987 and the assistant athletic director position since 1998. Utilizing the experience he has gained at Cinnaminson High School, as well as the experience, from various other medical positions, Mark has become a devoted educator. Thus, he has presented multiple medical and athletic training related topics to coaches, parents, athletic training students and football officials on both the state and local levels. Mark is also an approved clinical instructor and adjunct professor for the Temple University Athletic Training Education Program.

Mark has served on numerous state and EATA committees. Mark has given countless hours to improve the profession of athletic training. Mark currently serves or has served on the following ATSNJ committees: the executive council (southern region representative and secretary), the honor and award committee (currently the chairperson), the distinguished service award committee, public relations committee, the professional education committee (organized the ATSNJ video library), the conference committee and the speaker’s bureau. Mark serves as the chairperson for the Eastern Athletic Trainers' Association Nomination and Election Committee.

Mark resides in Cheltenham, Pennsylvania with his wife Stacy, and his three children.
