We have exciting news on the legislative front! Just prior to last week's Capitol Hill Day event in Washington, D.C., Sen. Robert Menendez (D-NJ) introduced Senate Resolution 372 to the Senate. S.Res. 372 endorses NATA's goals and ideals for a Secondary School Student Athletes' Bill of Rights and encourages schools to develop and adopt best practices and standards to prevent and address student athlete injuries.
On Tuesday, March 11, 2014, members of the ATSNJ met with Senator Robert Menendez to discuss Senate Resolution 372. Senator Menendez was gracious enough to meet with ATSNJ brass and discuss the bill and how it will benefit athletes. The ATSNJ members who met with the Senator are Eric Schwartz, Michael Prybicien, Michael Goldenberg, Robb Rehberg and John Furtado. Also meeting with Senator Menendez was NATA President Jim Thornton. Thank you Senator Menendez for all of your support!
